In a small town called Zhou Mi there is a lab scientist name Marley-LeLe. He has a normal sized family: a mom, dad, wife, and one child. He is a 25 year old Chinese man with compulsive anger problems when undergoing stress which causes him to have unsteady hands. In his profession he needs to be as steady as can be because if he’s as jittery as a bug, then he will make grave mistakes.
One day as he was working in the lab with a new lab rat that had just came in. He was not wearing gloves because he was frustrated with his family so he forgot to put them on. The fight he had gotten into was with his wife about his child. To calm himself down before doing testing with chemicals he decided to play with the albino rat. But what he didn’t know was that the rat had fleas because no one figured to check it.
With in that week he started to get weaker each and every day. Then suddenly out of nowhere he started to get short out of breath and a high fever but still went to work hoping it would pass. Finally his boss told him to go to school because he thought he had gotten a few other co workers sick.
When he got home his wife flipped because he did not listen to her when she said to go to the doctors. After nagging him to exhaustion he couldn’t take it anymore, he gave into his wife and went.
But by the time she got him to the doctors he broke with phlegm on the surface of his skin. So Dr. Yoshima rushed him in to a room where they tested him. What they found out was that he had a virus called Yersinia pestis. After tracing back to the past few days, they found that he had gotten it from the rat. In his contact with others he had infected his child and two coworkers. Sadly the child was not vaccinated, so the poor thing died. They figured that the coworkers go infected by him not cleaning his station very well and as for the baby he was kissing and hugging the child.
So the doctor gave him antibiotics and other drug treatments. Finally after awhile he got better but was left with a low immune system. When he came home the house was full of sadness in the air. He could feel it in his blood and bones that something was wrong. As he found out his child had died because he was not vaccinated.
In the end Marley-Lele ended up having another child. He was given a higher paying job after committing himself to vaccinating the less fortunate. He was awarded the noble Peace Prize.
